Yeah we used to even have the girls play football with us, nothing wrong with kids playing. I share a similar sentiment towards professional sport though. I think people who want to should practice it (I know pro weight lifters who are great people) but turning it into such a big part of our culture is obviously wrong.
What's worse than being a pro athlete is being a sports fan whose life revolves around those athletes. I believe the same about any form of bread and circuses that distract people from what's truly important. Just to think how many men treat sportsball as religion and how much money, energy and effort goes into the whole thing is disgusting. Like many other aspects of our culture, it's a sign of degradation and decay.
