Has anyone “refused” to touch the wall? Is this something they must do to be put into the position? I would think you can still be against the baddies.

Years ago I read about an Catholic Cardinal, and may as well have been an Orthodox, who was told to remove his cross before visiting the wall. He refused. I wish I could remember the name.
