The Eastern church uses the language of the people it’s serving, just as the apostles did. Greek Eastern Orthodox I’m Greece do their services in Greek, Greek Eastern Orthodox in America do their services in English unless they have a majority of their parishioners who speak Greek. You admit your service was in Greek yet it’s now in a dead language, it’s alienating. Rome admits that the eastern church has valid sacraments apostolic succession and tradition but laments that we are stuck in the first 1000 years and haven’t developed. If translating the services and scripture to peoples native tongue is traditional, I’ll stick with the tradition. The apostles spoke the language of their audience. That’s in the Bible. Why would we want people to not understand?
I just follow along with my missal, which has the words in English... This isn't rocket science here...
