Portable generators are a bit touchy because you need to use a fairly high percentage of the available power or they get damaged. Bigger is not better. Having built cell towers I can confirm they all have at least 1 backup generator, but no explanation for having 2 on site. Fire codes establish requirements for exhaust and fuel storage so it's not something you just add to the site without plan review and a building permit. If they're adding them now, it's been in the works for about a year because nothing moves that fast in construction. You can have all the generators you want but if the supply chain breaks down, how are you going to get diesel to operate them?
