They must seriously underestimate the black voters they are trying to persuade. To think people will fall for the idea that #1 it's the governments business whether they have habits the government agrees with and #2 that delaying the inevitable government overreach will somehow persuade black Americans to vote for him. That's like putting a gun to someone's head and saying I won't shoot you if you vote for me but I'm gonna keep the gun to your head. Or as the Palestinians say there's no negotiation with a knife to your neck.
