Russia never named itself "Russland". It always was "Rus" or "Rossia". It is "Rusland" originated from "Rus" or "Rossia". Just like "Russia" and other foreign names, not vice versa.
"Rus" and "Rossia" traces to sanskrit and pra-indo-arian "ruci", i.e. "light", "bright", "shiny", from skin and hair colour of people living on territory of Russia since paleolite.

I know history of my country. There was never such thing as "Ukraine sovereign state". No any "Ukraine" existed before 1991. Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was created by Lenin in 1922 as part of USSR. There was no any "Ukrainians" as etnicity before Lenin decree. "Ukrainian language" was created by Russian aristocrat Kotlarevsky in 1791 for lulz by replacing words in Russian to Polish and local dialect words and making up new ones. You will not find any evidence of existence of any "Ukrainian sovereign state" - no Ukraininan coins, no Ukrainian state flag, no Ukrainian attributes of state - absolutely nothing before 8 Dec 1991 when this part of Russia declared "independence" in contradiction to the will of people they clearly state at 17 Mar 1991 referendum and start to suck Western dick and spend everything they got from USSR. If you do genetic screening of "Ukrainian" it will be Russian, Polish, Romanian or Hungarian genetic. All that "Ukraine" is just a giant LARP. Deal with it.
