I personally wouldn't get an implant. Natural teeth aren't connected directly to the bone, they have something called a periodontal membrane or periodontal ligament. It holds the tooth in but it also functions as a bacterial seal for the bone. Implants don't have this, they allow infection from the mouth to travel deep into your bone. Peri-implantitis with implants is also very common. Literally a new word invented for a new disease. Something like 20-30% of implants suffer with this, and it means bacteria have eaten away enough of your bone where it's visible as bone loss on x-ray. Imagine what that does to the rest of your body.
Honestly nothing will beat your natural teeth. A bridge or partial might be an option.
They pull the tooth and do a bone graft so the area doesn't sink in over time.
The dentist is supposed to give an antibiotic before doing mouth surgery.
That's not really the issue here. The very short version is, bacteria remain and grow in dead / root canal teeth. The metabolic waste can end up in your blood stream and effect your health.
