For 1: an X6.3 isn't that big of a deal. 2: any eruption of size to do serious damage gets here so fast you may only have 8 minutes to prepare and I don't think they would release that information to the public
8 minutes is only the EMR (visible light, infrared, etc.) - then protons (8-24 hours), then plasma (1-3 days). I'm not an expert, but I've been listening to Suspicious Observers since 2013 - Ben can be a bit much, and also acts like an "ackchiaullly!" gatekeeper, but, insofar as any solar science is to be trusted, his take has my only attention.
