I think that the lighters and candles are only source of light in the room therefore no shadow. However the rocket has another source of light (the sun) behind it and therefore you will see a shadow of the flame because the light from sun is not passing through burning rocket fuel.
If that were the case you wouldn't be able to see shadows of the hands, match sticks, and candle stick, because the light of the fire is not behind those objects.

Also, the candle or bic lighter is an opposing light source. You need a much brighter light, like the sun.
