Its infuriating to see people compare something, like the mmr vaccine to the covid vaccine.
Ahh yes, comparing one vaccine with efficacy of something like 98% (This is regardless of personal feelings about the subject, i recommend vaccinating your child, when they are the appropriate age and body mass). To the covid vaccine where it doesnt even block transmission.
How well it works: The 2023-2024 updated vaccines were approved based on preclinical studies of their efficacy against the latest circulating strains. Some people may still become infected even though they have been vaccinated, but the goal of the vaccines now is to prevent severe disease, hospitalization, and death. Research has suggested that people who are infected after vaccination also are less likely to report Long COVID compared to those who were not vaccinated.
People out there who still think this is fake news. If getting the vaccine doesnt prevent you from getting sick, then they shouldnt call it a vaccine. Even a flu vaccine works, if they happen to pick the right random strain the year before. There is also no proof that getting a 1 shot every year is anymore effective than getting 1 every 2. I rarely get the flu, so I dont get the vaccine for it. Why would I get a flu shot every year for a once in a decade event ? Lol.
Another leaky vaccine? Whats up with that?
