A supercomputer scheduled to go online in April 2024 will rival the estimated rate of operations in the human brain, according to researchers in Australia. The machine, called DeepSouth, is capable of performing 228 trillion operations per second.
Okay, OP. Only using your brain, what's 3846 * -2.7365^0.961? Also, to test multicore processing, tell me what is 7.4^21.1
I've seen rocks that rival the human brain in computational speed.
The point is not computational per se but the fact that an 'artificial intelligence' will be run on the same parameters as a human brain. Did you read the article? It's about a computer being able to understand multiple things at once the same way the humans brain operates and makes connections. That's uncool brah
edit: Our brains do not work according to John von Neumann’s model of the computer. They don’t have separate computing and memory areas.
They instead work by connecting billions of nerve cells that communicate information in the form of electrical impulses. Information can be passed from one neuron to the next through a junction called a synapse. The organization of neurons and synapses in the brain is flexible, scalable, and efficient.
So in the brain—and unlike in a computer—memory and computation are governed by the same neurons and synapses.
Edit2: Artificial intelligence runs on neural networks settings based on the human brain model. I posted a brief overview of this if you want to look at it.

I was merely making a cheap joke, an observation ad absurdum. I appreciate the lengthy response.
Having not read this specific article, consider this about a synthetic (or real) brain:
Saving a Record of a Computation in a Neural Network could look like an illustration of all involved neurons, connected by lines of a thickness indicating the strength of their involvement. (Perhaps for real brains the nodes would be displayed in a CAD space relative to their physical location in the skull.)
So you'd get "questions" or Computations whose Solutions or "answers" would be a Shape. An encyclopedia could be created of all Computations performed by that AI or brain. A bucket of shapes. You'd have a heat map of the source from where each thought derives.
Level One:
blue whale, haygrass, piano keys, Africa
I may have made you think of an elephant by using words that weren't elephant, but were tangentially related!
Level Ten:
This AI research is a reignition of the MKUltra type projects that coerce the feebleminded into mass murder.
That's one goal of all this data collection and AI stuff. I've been warning for over a decade about how much will be able to eventually be gleaned from your DNA especially when matched with social profiles at large. As a small example they may see that people with a certain sequence have a preference for the color yellow. Well good thing the AI has that information to help use that color to influence your already warped perception of reality
