All of the known sun-deities were “born” on the 25th of December, which is the time of the winter solstice in the North—the “birthday” of the sun. This is when the days are at their shortest and begin getting longer again. These sun-deities include Nimrod, Tammuz, Mithra, Osiris, Horus, Helios, Apollo, Indra, Sol Invictus, Attis and all the other reincarnations of the child-god of the Babylonian religious system. Moreover, the 25th of December occurs approximately 37 weeks following the pagan fertility celebration of Easter (Ishtar/Ashtoreth). This timeframe aligns with the traditional duration of a pregnancy, from conception to childbirth, during which many sun deities were believed to have been conceived.
The birthday date of Christ is unknown and not recorded in scripture, nor are Christians commanded to celebrate it. In fact, we are explicitly commanded not to learn the way of the nations, nor to be held captive by human tradition. So, if there be any among you who loves the LORD, flee from this pagan festival. Don’t use the justification that you’re still celebrating it for the sake of your family. Jesus Christ was clear, “whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me”.
We are commanded to worship God in spirit and truth. Therefore, if the world or your family hates you for it, then rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven. In the same way they persecuted the prophets and saints which were before you. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you. To Him be the glory now and forever.
I ask not in disrespect but with honest discourse, what makes you believe your book is more accurate about our existence compared to the Vedas or aboriginal teachings?
Hi! A worthwhile question to examine indeed.
That question can be answered with a few objective points, but a lot of it can also be answered by how Jesus has worked in peoples’ lives. For example, many have found freedom from bondage to terrible habitual sin like drugs, alcohol, pornography, and more because they have seen Jesus work in their lives. I am sure the same could be said for other religions, but the gospel stands in completely opposition to virtually every other religion where other religions state an adherent must do X, Y, and Z to reach the goal of the religion, but the gospel of Jesus Christ states Jesus has already done X, Y, and Z for you to reach the goal.
This moves us on to more objective points like many prophecies being fulfilled that Scripture has pointed out, like the prediction of King Cyrus of the Persians; and a detailed description of the complete destruction of Tyre, a city once thought impenetrable. Another point is Scripture’s incredibly accurate examination of the human condition and how Yahweh has provided a means for us to escape our own self-inflicted destruction. A final point, and most importantly, is the highlights of Jesus Christ, a figure that all credible secular and Christian scholars agree was a real person, and we have sources backing up what the Bible tells us about Him, like He performed miracles and was raised from the dead. And to that last note, no one has yet to find His body because He has risen as a testament to who He is: Yahweh, the king of the universe, in the physical manifestation of mankind.
Hope this helped!
My faith comes from God. It is He who has given me eyes to see and ears to hear. Before I was called I was nothing and without hope in this world. The life I now live is by faith and hope in the Son of God—Jesus Christ.
Now speaking of tangible evidence, yes, it is all around us. What can be known about God is plain to all, because God has shown it to us all. His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So we are all without excuse.
However, most will struggle to acknowledge it unless it is first granted to them by the Father. The gospel is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case Satan has blinded the mind of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
For what I proclaim is not of myself, but Jesus Christ as Lord. God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in my heart to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
