Interestingly, before I was knowledgeable about how the deep state was behind the push for drug legalization and the popularization of shrooms (Terrance McKenna was intel/MK-Ultra, I found out), I tried shrooms. So I told this same friend about it and he said "Be careful, shrooms change you. I was never same after my trip."
The stigma around actual medicine, like shrooms, weed, ayahuasca, etc., is a sight to behold. The government did a great job brainwashing the masses in the 80s and 90s about the “dangers” of things that can actually heal you.

The Vietnam anti-war movement was initially organized by well-groomed, Christian, young men and women. That's when the deep state introduced sex, drugs and rock and roll...and the hippie movement. It was to discredit the anti-war movement. Of course everything they do is multifaceted, but there is plenty of material to substantiate all this.
