Now it’s considered normal for kids to not even know what gender they are. How things have escalated.

If the past twenty years have shown us anything it's that bullying is healthy. Yes it can go too far and perhaps it does frequently, but it can also be important in curbing unhealthy behaviors

Yea exactly this. The only kids who got bullied were the freaks. Now that bullying is illegal and kids can sue the school for hundreds of thousands if they’re bullied the freaks come out the woodwork.
To be fair, the things I got bullied for in school turned out to make me a successful and relatively popular person as an adult. It is not strictly people exhibiting poor behavior who get bullied, it's anyone who doesn't fit the mold. And there are also bullies who are unreasonable. Yet even understanding this and as a "victim" (though I hesitate to use that word) of bullying i don't hold any angst about it and that allows me to see the possible merits of it. Merits that have become clear as the world goes to hell
