Doom Porn Light on Details
Those who consent to be afraid of suggested will deliver endless details about how and why they're afraid.
Consider porn...suggested "teen" category to drive interest in fresh produce; which then transformed into exponentially growing "amateur" category aka those who consent are now delivering the suggestions to each other, while those who suggested initially are running the infrastructure as middle-men from behind the scenes.
Consider DOOM...released in 1993; still being supplied with mods three decades later.
If you're ready; then consider refraction of light after illumination...
I disagree. Fear porn, yes, absolutely. However I don't think we're quite aware of the full extent of AI development especially in the military. You could do a lot with automated drone swarms and facial recognition alone. I think it is a threat.
But to make the threat a reality you'd need is some sort of happening that makes this type of overreach acceptable to the general populace... which might be wishful thinking actually now that I type it out. But for example, mass migrant mind control zombie attacks. Now drones are monitoring everywhere under Strongman Trump. If you cover your face, officers are dispatched. After all, you might be an illegal.
So I agree that out-of-control AI is not a huge threat, so that is fear porn, but we're already far past the point of AI-like tech being a massive threat, should anyone happen to manage to clamp down en masse.
I think it's also predictive programming. So when AI does become totalitarian, most likely not by itself but at the hands of some "elected leader", you'll have half the men just saying "I told you so, gosh darn it!" and patting themselves on the back.
I keep asking people ... still waiting
