I haven't studied the situation closely, but it seems generally agreed by informed and practically-minded people that the two-state solution died a long time ago. There is no possibility of it ever coming into existence, or of working were it somehow forced into being.
If so, it can then be said that everyone talking about it otherwise is misinformed, deluded, or using it as a pretext for some other purpose. As a prime example, various politicians use it to buy time while working on their real agenda.
The big problem is, if it comes down to one state and it's either Israeli or Palestinian, the Zionists understand clearly it's virtually certainly not going to be Israeli.
