As mentioned about halfway through, the Ashkenazim were originally Khazars, and their polity was known as a "khaganate". That name comes from the ruler, who was known as the "khagan". Sound familiar?

You may remember arch neocon Robert Kagan, most famous as founder of the Project for a New American Century (PNAC). You may also remember his harridan wife, Victoria Nudelman--er, Nuland. She will go down in history as the high priestess who returned to the old khaganate, began by handing out bagels and ended by scorching the entire land, with a mass human sacrifice squeezed in between.

A demonic symmetry to it all, I suppose.
