Not sure how old you are, but when i was kid in the 90s there were 9 planets in the whole universe. Now they say ever single star has at least 1 planet and we now have 8 planets in our solar system along with 5 dwarf planets.
any answer you get nowadays regarding any question related to cosmology is simply a theory. A theory based on our currently accepted facts, accepted facts that will change over time as they add to/or change aspects of our model, a model that according to many top experts cant actually be proven and is chosen based on "philosophical" criteria.
What your doing now (independent research which physical experimentation) is more valuable then any arbitrary answer you could find online.
