When I wrote "in reality", that's a common way of acknowledging that there is this thing that people call something (in this case "international law") but which does not actually exist. I am saying international law doesn't exist like people like you believe it exists.
For example, if "international law" existed and it was "law" why do people and nations get away with violating it so much? Because it's like war crimes, which only apply to the losers. It's not really law then, but a sort of collective set up generalized norms that occasionally get adhered to. More guidelines really.
