I was floored the first time I had Darjeeling tea. I've only had that and Ceylon tea a couple of times each, but ya know, what was the cost of those teas? And I don't mean the price.
Any time people bring up the Nazis, I ask them why Britain gets a pass for "colonialism". There's no good answer, ever. How many people did they kill? Is there even a good estimate? 100 million, give or take. But, Hitler's bad, mmmkay?
If you have ever been to the "it's all fake" website, I'm pretty sure he goes over how the British destroyed a lot of interesting temples in India and even rebuilt them, but removed certain elements. One palace or temple complex I saw had a mermaid logo that was suspiciously close to that of the "new" old Starbucks logo, and it makes me wonder how far cultural appropriation might really go.
