It really stands out that anyone is retracting anything. Say what you will about the press, but even when they write propaganda, they always phrase it with various weasel words and fail-safes. For example, if push ever came to shove, "no evidence" can simply become "well, no evidence that I ever saw".
But now we're seeing "Them" and their narrative contradicted all over the place: American media, Israeli media, former and current IDF, Israeli government, foreign governments. That never happens, certainly not as the events are still ongoing, and only infrequently years and decades later.
So what's happening? "They" have really gone overboard and lots of people are actually waking up. And as a secondary effect, even the rats that are still on board can sense a ship that is sinking and are deciding to abandon it.
For example, here's some surprisingly strong, surprisingly sharp blowback right from the heart of the beast, and this is despite I'm sure most of them actually believing the official narrative:
