Just started rewatching utopia with my wife, her first time. So I'm watching the newest version of it, they remade it. John cusick or whatever his name is in this one, as in the cell. Same guy, same predictive programming. Coincidence?
Utopia is an American science fiction drama television series created by Gillian Flynn based on the 2013 British original series of the same name. It was released on September 25, 2020, on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service.[1]
In November 2020, the series was canceled after one season of eight episodes.
They don't fuck around with cancelling shows these days. It's like they want to do the "revelation of method" letting you know what's going on, then good enough, shut 'er down.
What is this series about here.
A group of young adults and a boy get ahold of Utopia, a cult underground comic book, which not only pins them as the target of a shadowy organization, but also burdens them with the dangerous task of saving the world. The titular comic is the conclusion of Dystopia, of which the group members are fans and believe it to contain clairvoyant information about diseases that have already struck the world.
Synopsis:[3] The comic book fans discover a global conspiracy. The comic book contains clues of future events because it is written by one of the architects of a plan designed to prevent ecological disaster as the Earth's population rises and resources are depleted. The plan consists of: (1) Convincing the world's population that there is an outbreak of a deadly new virus, (2) Once convinced of the narrative of the faux-pandemic, announce to the public the creation of a new vaccine, (3) Through the coordination between global elites and non-governmental organizations, governments move quickly to inject the world's population with this "vaccine". (4) Once the population is injected, it turns out that the vaccine is designed to sterilize almost all of those people that take it, causing the global population to drop from 7.8 billion to about 500 million, and ushering in a new era of plenty.
Think I saw something about this.. or maybe watched some. Where John Cusack's the bad guy. Like WTF with pulling this out in 2020. Wait.. what's it about.. Holy fuck, they got balls, eh. I gotta go get this series. Hang on.
Noticed there's a more british 2013 version.
Utopia is a British thriller drama television series that was broadcast on Channel 4 from 15 January 2013 to 12 August 2014.[2][3] The show was written by Dennis Kelly and starred Fiona O'Shaughnessy, Adeel Akhtar, Paul Higgins, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Alexandra Roach, Oliver Woollford, Alistair Petrie and Neil Maskell.[4][5] A second six-episode series was commissioned by Channel 4 and went into production in late 2013,[6] and was broadcast in July and August 2014.[7] The show has since gained a cult following.[8][9]
In October 2014, the series' official Twitter feed stated there would not be a third series.[10][11] HBO had originally planned to make an American version of the show in 2014, but did not produce it due to budget disputes. Amazon then acquired the rights to the series as of April 2018, and an American version was released on 25 September 2020. Initially nearly inaccessible for viewing on the U.S. market, Amazon released both of the original series on Amazon Prime on 1 November 2020
Seems like the same shit different pile. Gonna just check out the 2020 one first.
Now.. this John Cusack. I remember him from the 80's type movies.. was outside some chick's house with a ghetto blaster. Never saw that one. Oh I saw him in one with Hilary Duff. Yeah war inc. Was talking with her back then on myspace that summer 2010 before she married mike.. so go.. ok I'll check out some of your shit. I watched one with her sister and was like.. I made it though it. She gets insulted and wasn't talking to me after that. lol. I'm there.. you gotta do these more drama movies with crying where you can get more awards. lol.
So yeah.. John Cusack, eh.. I'd see him around over the years but never really watched too much of his shit. Saw that cell one though. Scrolling his imdb. That bad hot tub time machine. Not that he's getting washed up cause he never really got going. lol.
I don't know what else he gets into here.. but you got some red flags with this Cell (2016), not Utopia. I don't wanna spoil utopia here looking more into what it's about.. so I'll know more after I watch it. Got this Dollhouse 2 seasons on my desktop from yesterday to check out first though.
This book was better than the movie. The movie wasnt bad tho. They tell us what's coming beforehand, they believe it gives them power. If you let the enemy into your DNA because you are weak and afraid you deserve whatever it is their real goal will cause. Let's hope this is the last "two more weeks" and the active time comes quickly.
Ended up watching all nine of the 2020 one, amazing how close it is to what actually happen, when the population is begging for the EUA they even all take a knee is solidarity. How this comes out and then it plays out in real time right afterwards with zero attention is beyond me.
