It's the MASS PANIC alert, that they are working on. When something like project BlueBeam happens soon, they can be the "first responders" to the event. Thus, whatever they say to be done, you will follow out of fear.
On iPhone go to Settings, Notifications, scroll all the way down, will see Government Alerts. There is 4: Amber, Emergency, Public Safety, and Text Alerts.
Turned all mine off. Last time it went off in the middle of the night it scared the crap out of me. It automatically goes full volume and most annoying buzzing sound plus vibration. You’ll get a heart attack before any meaningful alert action from that
I found the settings, but National Alerts can't be turned off. I turned off Amber Amber Alerts because there's really nothing I can do when I get an alert at 1:00 am that says something like "13 month old Liza Smith abducted by Hispanic male". Am I supposed to go out in the middle of the night looking for every Hispanic male with a baby and call the police?
I went through my history and it looks like more than half of the missing children alerts we're actually sent as Severe Threat Alerts rather than Amber Alerts. I don't know what the rules are for each category, but I would think that some kid that I don't know being missing isn't a severe threat to me.
This was done in UK earlier. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/mar/19/uk-launches-emergency-phone-alerts-public-warning-system

nothing new, the Trump administration did something similar.
Preparing to announce MASS executions!?
Is there a way to block it?
I have all emergency notifications turned off on my company phone. I guess we will see.
