Gideon International is an evangelical Christian association that distributes Bibles to hotels and other places where people may need them 123. The organization was founded in 1899 by two traveling businessmen who wanted to share their faith with others 2. They decided to place Bibles in hotel rooms as a way of reaching out to travelers who might be looking for spiritual guidance or comfort 124.
The Gideons have been placing Bibles in hotel rooms since 1908, when they received their first order for 25 copies from a hotel in Montana 1. Since then, they have distributed more than 1.7 billion Bibles in over 190 countries, in various languages and formats 25. They also provide Bibles to schools, prisons, hospitals, military bases, and college campuses 12.
The Gideons do not charge the hotels for the Bibles, as they are funded by donations from their members and supporters 12. They also replace any Bibles that are worn out or taken by guests. The Gideons do not mind if people take the Bibles, as they consider it a sign that they are interested in reading them 2. They also claim that many people have found salvation or hope through reading the Bibles they placed in hotel rooms 16.
The Gideons’ mission is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all people in every facet of life 5. They believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and the only rule of faith and practice 5. They also follow a code of conduct that includes honesty, integrity, loyalty, courtesy, and service 5.
I hope this answers your question. If you want to learn more about Gideon International or their Bible distribution program, you can visit their website5 or read some of the articles I found for you[1-5]. Have a nice day! 😊
who the fuck are these guys, man.. they sure seem like like those latter day saints or those jehova witness characters.. super cult shit, eh?
This has to be it's own post.
Every Gideon bible I've seen has been KJV. Why does it matter if it says Gideon on it? It's what's inside that's important. If you have a problem with the KJV/textus receptus that's a whole other thing.
I don't know man.. I'm not your enemy, at all.. I'm just trying to research the real truth about what's actually occuring out there.. you know what I mean. All I'm doing there is.. who's these Gideon guys?
What you gotta wonder is.. who is King James, right? And what authority does this guy have to "edit" a fucking bible. lol. so.. you got red flags right there. You want me to dig into this King James stuff.. lol.. I'll go at it a whole weekend man, ok.
What you gotta remember.. is anything you can research.. they don't want you going places. What you gotta focus on, is why are they stopping you from going somewhere. And that GIGANTIC red flag right now is how come chatGPT won't allow you to research about the Talmud. Bing AI coughed it up though, eh..
Lemme get that at least some kind of real truth going on around here, for once. lol.. Ya gotta know how to handle these guys, man. ok.. here's what it said, why I can't go into research about the Talmud.
"Moreover, even if I could translate the chapter for you, it would be a violation of my rules to do so, as it would be considered a form of Torah study, which is forbidden for gentiles according to Rabbi Yoḥanan"
So at least it's being honest, ok. Now you try to get chatGPT to tell you original lines from this Talmud, that they train Rabbis with.. in the original language, Hebrew. ChatGPT will not go there, whatsoever.. it'll say it's a violation of it's "copyright" protocols, set by openAI. But then you ask it, how long do copyright protocols last, it'll say 70 years. Then you make it realize for itself, when was the Talmud written. Now it'll get into conflict about, oh which version.. you've got the Jerusalem version, written in year 400, or this Babylon version which was edited from that in year 500.
Now you get into "verses", right.. but it's not like the bible in hotel room drawers. One of their numbering systems isn't like a few lines for bible verses. It's more like a whole chapter. But just one, like, trying to research that first one of this list of 20 examples.. was only 1 page.. but no, chatGPT, doesn't wanna "go there", absolutely, whatsoever, under any sort of who knows what. It's the tightest of restrictions, almost like, I don't know, man.. haven't seen this type of, don't wanna tell ya what's actually goin on type thing.. if chatGPT was able to do like if you do a freedom of information request, it'd "redact" the entire Talmud. lol. All black highlight pen over all of it.
Now why would chatGPT have these protocols to do that. Meanwhile, if you ask it, it tries to use the excuse that it's due to "copyright" issues. Yet ask it, how long to copyrights last.. it'll say, oh 70 years. Meanwhile the talmud was written way before that. Upon this realization that you're not into territory of conflict of interest, it goes, oh yeah.. but then it clams right up and back in a bad loop of, no.. can't tell ya about direct original Hebrew lines from the Talmud, the 39 books they train Rabbis with.
Don't believe anything chatGPT says. It is not a living entity. It is an advanced version of predictive text akin to a usually coherent version of madlibs. It doesn't 'know' anything in the sense that we 'know' things. Its only agenda is what it has been programmed to have. You could waste hours days weeks months and years of your life asking it things and while sometimes it may give you facts or falsehoods it doesn't actually have any clear understanding of the text it generates because it is not a living entity. It's lines of code. While asking it things may be entertaining at the end of the day you are more or less talking to a calculator.
King James like Wycliffe and Tyndle and John Huss and Martin Luther among many others translated the Bible from Hebrew/Aramaic/Latin/Greek manuscripts they had available at the time to give the world the scriptures in a language the people of their areas could understand. There isn't a vast conspiracy there. At least not until you start looking into more modern reworkings like westcott and horts 1888 so called critical Greek text or the Jehovah's witnesses new world translation or other even worse complete fabrications that were created in and around those times. Those certainly have error, but if you only study error it will lead you off a cliff. Just study the truth. Study the life of Christ. Feel free to read multiple translations at the same time using a free program like e-sword and what you will find is they all say basically the same thing. There are only two verses in the entire Bible that are even controversial when it comes to the differences in translations and people make a huge deal out of them usually for no real good reason at all.
I'm glad you are interested in seeking the truth, as long as you do that you will find it more and more and more. The truths of the Bible are infinite and it will continually be enlightening without end.
