"Professional sports" is one of the things that literally destroy human society. "Professional sportsmans" are the dumbest and most impotent people in the world.
Just imagine, f.e., you know only how to throw the ball and nothing else, because in school you didn't get knowlege and learn to think, but throw ball for the school, then you do exactly the same for university, that take you just for your skill of throwing the ball, then you are in "professional sports" throwing ball. And then you will be thrown out, with all possible consequences of drugs you was pumped with and damages you got. And if you are extremely lucky, may be you will earn some money to live out the rest of your life in decent conditions. But that is solitary cases. Most "professional sportsmen" end their life miserably and early. And when you are out of "professional sports" for wahtever reason, you already missed that time when learning are easy.
You know mostly "famous professional sportsmen", but the uderwater part of that iceberg is just passing by unnoticed.
"Professional sports" is a giant grinder that devour most physically developed youth from society, depriving it from education, family, kids, health and normal life. "Professional sports" is one of the main causes of humanity degradation we observing today. Just like with smartest ones who effectively extracted from society by similar method with similar result. Kind of perverted eugenics, where instead of creating conditions to breed and rise the percentage of smart and physically developed healthy kids in population, TPTB do everything to breed dumb and sickly.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against sports, I like to play soccer with firneds, or drive a race, or dive, or whatever, for fun, teaming and adrenaline, but that fun should not be a profession, since the whole point of sports is completely lost, when somebody do that for money. And I never understand what is the point of watching others doing sports for money, instead of doing that things by yourself.
