3D printing was all the rave back around 2012. Now I don't hear anything about it.
I hate having to buy anything made out of plastic. I should be able to just print it with a 3D printing machine and the file for the 3D scan.
Why was this technology basically brought to a halt and not developed?
It seems technology is stalled since 2010.
Not much innovation going on.
Perhaps the motivation and incentive has been removed.
Aren't there 3D scanners than can fairly create the model for printing a copy?
I’m not aware of any good ones. I think the issue is, you have to convert your model from an STL file, which is like a geodesic mesh, into a set of commands for the printer. If you have a crappy STL file, it doesn’t convert well and can jam your printer. I think going from a laser scan of an object to a “clean” mesh is pretty hard.
So are you doing it or not?
If not, what the fuck are you complaining about?
Maybe 3D scanning technology was thwarted or defunded because of the threat of ghostguns being 3D printed. That might be the conspiracy here.
On another subject, I heard your beloved Ukraine is trying to cope with the inevitable fact that they are losing the war.
So you don't have a 3D printer and you know nothing about 3D printing.
Why am I not surprised?
You created a problem in your head and then got angry about that narrative.
Hilarious.
I'm 3D printing pikes.
