Has anybody played console games?
I am playing Red Dead Redemption 2. I am playing through getting Gold medals on the missions, frustrating, some of the requirements are hard. But you earned it. Completing.
However I have found that unplugging my console from the Internet makes a huge difference to how the solo mission proceeds.
The AI has gone rogue. A preprogrammed computer path the NPCs take is suddenly become an AI generated nightmare. They're falling off their horses, riding into coaches, weird shit is happening. It would be funny, if it weren't fucking me up. Dutch hit a stagecoach x3 times before walking to St. Denis, on a timed mission. They ride into trees. A random NPC not mission releated appears, costing time, on a route that never has them normally in the mission. The A.I doesn't ride around, it rides into, but it would any other time, replaying the mission. They collide into each other. The A.I shoots their horse. They walk to the next point, instead of riding their horse, it's stuck.
Except none of this occurs on odds in the 100s to 1000s to 1.
As soon as I unplug the console from its LAN connection, the probabilty of it decreases.
Some of it is bad programming, but this is nefarious. It has locked paths, it moves around obstacles. The A.I targets you, not the NPC. Etc.
It keeps happening, until I unplug the console from the internet.
I could relate similar experiences in Diablo 4. But no point. There's a demon in the box. That A.I is rogue. Hardcore rare spawn the Butcher in every dungeon entered x15 in a row.
Sounds like they are using you to help train their A.I.
Older games and emulation exists. Modern consoles are a joke.
