Yes, although there's feedback. Destruction of certain immune pathways in VAIDS further advance ASIA. Doom loop death spiral, if one can't stop it.

There was another syndrome we studied back then too but i can't remember the name. Something related to immune dependent upon the spikes causing immune regulatory dysfunction.
