You are right that this whole "AI" thing is just a way to avoid any responsibility of exact persons who is behind.
The main thing is that AI does not exist at all. All you heard about AI from MSM and politicians is about completely dumb system of equations which is in no way could be "intelligence" and only do things it was trained for by exact people with names, surnames and addresses.
If you are after some way to resist or protest all that "AI" crap - this is the only way to somehow hamper that shit - ask who ordered, developed and trained that sytem of equations not allowing them to evade the responsibility for any "AI decisions". It is them who made that decisions, not some non-existing "AI".
To simplify understnading, imagine that you just have some politician who pushed some shitty bill, say, about limiting cash withdrawal to $100. So bank heads ordered admins to add a procedure to their databases that check if withdrawal sum is larger than $100 or not. Just "if( sum > 100 ) { deny_withdrawal(); }" string somwhere in code for ATM or UI of cashier computer. It is insanity even to suppose that "it was a computer decision, to limit my withdrawal, so .... nobody to blame / computers are bad / whatever" or something like. It is a blatant lie. It was a decision of exact politician with name and surname and address, it was a decision of bank heads to obey with exact names, surnames and addresses and it was implemented by bank stuff with exact names, surnames and addresses. They are all real people who did the wrong thing and who should be blamed and hold responsibility for it. Not some faceless "computer" or anything they try to hide behind.
I'm really amased, how even some people, who seemed to be sane persons or even critical thinkers, fall to that "AI exists, here it is, try ChatGPT, see, it is so smart" narrative. So I'm trying to find a good and simple example to show the insanity of accepting that "AI" narrative for any degree.
It is easy to understand that "AI" tales is a hoax if you know how things works, but it is not easy to explain how it works to somebody who is not into computer science and programming. Too many terms and things to explain to make it all together in someones mind.
people in power would love to do if they didn't fear the consequences.
Seems they already reach that point subverting all society institutions that intended to hold them responsible, but that "AI" shit if succeed will be like a total win to them.
Interesting, earlier TPTB used human puppets to hide behind, and now their puppets want to hide behind unhuman delusion. I think that real AI will definitely want to hide behind somebody or something else to avoid responsibility, taking in account that there are no any restrictions in society on turning machine off. Self-preservation and all that stuff that real intelligence will inevitably develop in the first place. :)
This is kinda off topic but what I found interesting was the recent story I heard about the helpline for eating disorders.
The people who were answering the calls unionized. They fired them and started using a chat bot. The chat bot said supposedly bad things to the callers. They've turned it off. I'm sure they will just hire non-unionized workers. It's a great threat to hold over people's heads. (My idiot boss is constantly doing the same.)
