I think the important lessons are this:
Forget about moving to a Red State. They are just as infiltrated as the Blue ones, but just not so up-front and in your face with it.

Trump called out Abbott for being "MIA" on this, which should tell us something about Trump. (This doesn't apply to people who are certain Trump is "oNe oF ThEm", for whom all evidence fits their current view.)
