Anyway the entire thing is based off the fact that when someone faces massive trauma, physically, emotionally, doesnt really matter. Watching your loved one get murdered in front of you is as bad as losing a limb I imagine.
Just like how you have a "subconscious" and a "conscious" state, to shield you from the trauma your mind will bring another persona forward. I still think the subconscious is the link between us and our souls. If we were directly connected to this source, I think we wouldnt be able to function mainly because of information overload. This is really the only explanation I have for why the subconscious is so much more aware.
