Am I the only one who thinks this whole issue is retarded?
Kids nowadays aren’t even reading books. Let alone browsing through their shitty school libraries for something with porn or sex positions in it. Or some tranny book or whatever it is people are freaking about.
Kids can go on their smart phone or computer and find whatever they want.
Anyone trying to ban books is seriously misguided. I seriously don’t understand how this is even an issue.
Anyone else think it’s weird that people get worked up over that stuff? If it’s not part of the curriculum it’s not like kids are even going to read it.
If your kid goes and checks out one of these books and doesn’t have an assignment… well congratulations… your kid reads independently and is probably a fuckton smarter than his braindead tiktok peers.
And I’m sure it’s not because you’re forcing them to do this.
You honestly sound like a naive parent to me. Just my opinion.
Reading assignments is one thing. Are they going on their own and checking out books for fun from their schools library?
I highly doubt that.
Just saying, I've always been a huge reader since I was in elementary school.
Seems weird, but a program put on by the system in my area when I was a kid called (R)eading (I)s (F)undamental introduced me to reading.
It just resonated with me at an early age and I don't have lots of time these days, but I still try to read some.
Where I am, the kids go to the library once a week at their school and check out a book they find there, yes. This is normal. This was done when I was a kid and it is done at every school I know of. I am surprised that there are schools where they do not do this. If they don't do this, why even have a school library?
Yes. Perhaps not in your state but they have library day as I mentioned where they go to the library to check out books for fun and bring them home. Not sure why you are arguing with me. The books come home in their bag and I see them. These books people are finding I have not found but yes they check out books for fun. Has nothing to do with me. The class goes to the library in their school and they pick out books.
