I think you're right; Elon is not suddenly one of us, simply because he started saying "based" things on his $44,000,000,000 website. However, I think the part he's playing in this game is sincere, insofar as its ends are in the same direction its means' appear to aim. I think he is helping to sow division, to help foment the coming civil war, to help Balkanize the US, to, yet, help bring us down when we are ultimately outflanked by enemy combatants that will be brought into the coastal regions after Balkanization.
How could nearly every coastal state naturally become dark "blue", and then the boarder states begin to follow, while everyone "red" is pushed further inland? Florida (for the moment) and the slight prospect of a "Greater Idaho" are, perhaps, the only real hopes for coastal strongholds by non-communist regions, in the event of such a war.
The timeline is unclear, but I've long thought that the next "world war" would, in large part, be a global civil war, one where factions within each country fight. France, Italy, Greece, Eastern European countries, etc., they all have just as much reason to break out into major fighting as we do in the US.
So I don't think Elon is fucking around or pretending to be something that is not; I think he's playing his part in this, like Clot Adams, etc.
