I’ll believe that as plausible as soon as you show me documented evidence of a front-mounted camera installed in or around the cockpit of the shuttle that was used during launch. Conversely, I’d also settle for a single case of a NASA official mentioning they forgot to take the cap off of an aforementioned camera.
This all being hypothetical spitballing, if I were nasa, I'd never let it slip that I left a lens cap on.
I'd like to see front mounted cameras myself. In the 60s, I can see the technology being somewhat cumbersome, but now. ol Elon can just slap a gopro on the dash of one of them bad boys and away we go.
