The main issue I see with household 3D printers is you still have to do something. So many people don't even change the oil in their lawn mower or even mow the lawn themselves.
3D printers are still tools to do work. If you don't want to do work, you won't use the tool.
We used to say there are 3 things to put in your grant application to help it be accepted: 3d printing, machine learning and blockchain.

I've made some good stuff, I have friends from Uni gone on to work in the industry but certainly not domestic utopia
