More than 2,000 residents are under an evacuation order after a large fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at an Indiana recycling plant, officials said.

Psst! They do it on purpose because recycling is expensive and unprofitable and rebuilding the next facility is covered by insurance.

It's like money laundering but for guilt.

Any resident within a half-mile radius of the Wayne County plant has been ordered to evaluate due to the "large industrial fire," local officials said.

The evacuation zone impacts approximately 2,011 residents, according to a representative from the Wayne County Emergency Management office.

Humans manage toxins in manufacturing All. The. Time. This is not the reason. The reason plastics are not recycled is because it’s cheaper to make new ones from oil than develop recycling processes that actually work.

Wrong. The number on the bottom of the item says the material, and if it is recyclable. I spoke to my local recycle company, and they can't recycle most plastic that says recyclable for the reason I expressed above. Maybe later facilities, but the cost/ benefit for a smaller city isn't there.
