most recent analysis of Long Term Support Linux Kernel releases from 5.16 to 6.1 that a mere 7.5 percent of the kernel development, as measured by lines changed, came from individual developers. No, the real leaders were, in order: AMD; Intel; Google; Linaro, the main Arm Linux development organization; Meta; and Red Hat (IBM).
I don't trust anyone, specially any OS written and maintained by commies such as macOS, Windows and Linux. On my networks all traffic is monitored. Keep living your dream. loooool
Most of the os are open source, which can be both good and bad. I remember there was a time when a bad actor wrote some bad code and it took a few months for it to be caught.
But it is for sure less telemetry than windows 10/11. I have very little doubt they are killing support for other os's because they want to record every single user's keystroke. Call me paranoid, but I feel its pretty obvious its being done. I remember reading articles years ago about being advised not to cheat on your taxes using windows 10 lawl.
But unless your going to go through the effort of actually understanding what your doing, then using default passwords and setups is just going to leave you more prone to being spied on by a bad actor.
Really in the end comes down to, who do you want spying on you. Russia/China, or Five Eyes. Fucking stupid regardless and the only way to fight this is to repeal the intrusive laws that are basic violations of freedom. But I doubt any of us are going to become politicians.
I dont really feel like dying for a bunch of shithead cowardly people who dont care about me hahaha.
I would avoid Linux as it wouldn't exist if big tech didn't control it.
