Why do companies keep hiring older and older employees? Could it be that young people aren't motivated, qualified, available? (media.conspiracies.win)

ive said it since 2008 --- "they're slowly killing us..."

im almost 40... ive known so many people in my generation who were completely shot.. over worked with nothing to show for it...

the only people who own any real estate are handed down from their parents or have rich ones...

Sorry if that's your experience but this reads like demoralization. I'm younger than you and most of my peers own at least the house they live in. None were handed down by parents. One friend has numerous properties and he did that by working crazy hours at a lower paying job than most of us and just making that his mission.

There are definitely a lot of problems out there. But this whole "it's impossible to do anything" attitude I see on these alternative websites reeks of defeatism

Yeah, Canada has some of the most expensive land in the world, and the land outside cities is often zoned as Environmentally Protected which means you can't build on it if you wanted to. By far, the majority of land in Southern Ontario, at least, is zoned this way. The low end of house prices in my area has gone up 400% in the last 10 years.

That said, I know people who bought houses without (much) help. It's possible, but you have to have an above average job, low or no debt, and dedicate yourself to nothing else.
