imho, it has more to do with nurture and life experiences than nature. if parents, teachers, coaches, or whatever role models a kid has are inclined to look truth in the face regardless of cost, then so will the child. if a kid has some pretty bad experiences because of societal pretense, the kid is more likely to become a skeptical adult.
having said that, raw intelligence also plays a role.

a) raw represents perceivable whole; cut represents each perceiving partial. The raw natural order represents the alteration for everyone within.
b) knowledge represents perceivable (inspiration); intelligence represents ones consent to stand under aka understanding suggested (information).
c) if one stands under the suggestions by others (intelligence), then one restricts grow of comprehension within perceivable (knowledge).
d) the few brand their suggestions as "knowledge" and the consent of the many as "intelligence".
e) the "ledge of knowing" represents ones perceiving choice in-between perceivable balance (need/want).
