Ive seen the videos where it does indeed look like they are using wires for something. Why they fake those, I couldnt say. About the only piece of evidence that is actually legit for flat earth.
But people like buckminster fuller and carl sagan. No I dont think they were part of some grand conspiracy to fool people.
Spent alot of his time designing different probes/ships/habitats etc. These people genuinely believe that humanity is capable of doing so much more. Why would they be in on this lie? I agree, perhaps space is not what we think it is. But I feel very confident, that our ancestors were capable of calculating all this stuff by marking shadows. And that the world is indeed spherical.
I was thinking of something earlier, called the overview effect
They go to school and learn about astrophysics or other theoretical sciences and dont get any funding unless they toe the line. They go along becus they dont want to admit that their life amounted to a waste of time. Astrophysics is a joke and shouldnt get air time. We might as well bring back phrenology. They even state the only way to prove multiple universes is to build a collider the size of the galaxy. Here is just two episodes with someone who feels similarly. Eric weinstein.
