Explain to me the Fermi Paradox without cheating and using a search engine or copy/paste. In your own words.
The Fermi paradox: going to the beach, taking one cup full of water as a sample, finding zero fish and concluding there is no life.

statistics courses did factor into the equation how large a sample size was to the overall population. the larger the sample size is to whole population the more representative the sample size is, mathematically at least.
