Since nobody interested in digging out that rabbit hole, I just lurked a little, and that's what I found:
https://whois.ipip.net/AS14593
Starlink have autonomous system with ID AS14593. This AS have only 206,080 IPv4 adresses that is too low for woldwide provider.
On "Graph v4" tab you could research direct connections AS14593 have with other AS'es. On "Upstreams" tab you could find upstreams of Starlink, i.e. channels Statlink use to connect to internet.
Mostly it connected to usual backbone providers and IXes, but there is some random networks I found interesting on the quick view.
- AS46997 NATOLAB - Black Mesa Corporation, US
- AS11164 INTERNET2-I2PX - Internet2, US
- AS14630 INVESCO - Invesco Group Services, Inc., US
- AS1798 OREGON - State of Oregon, US
- AS2152 CSUNET-NW - California State University, Office of the Chancellor, US
- AS207841 INFERNO - Inferno Communications Ltd, GB (some here will be enjoyed by that name)
- AS34019 HIVANE, FR (suspicious because it is a very small murky non-profit network with direct connection to Starlink AS)
- AS293 ESNET, US
You could continue that digging if interested. There are other tabs you could explore. There are tons of info you could find interesting.
SpaceX also have AS27277 autonomous system - http://whois.ipip.net/AS27277
You tell me, I have no idea. It is cheaper here to just throw fiber to the cabin in the woods than to pay insane $500 for Starlink terminal, Teslas do not hold charge in winter and there are no charging stations every mile, so they are no more than summer toys for rich people, Musk don't build his metro here and nobody try to implant chips into brains.
Model 3 is the best off grid sedan as solar can power it and basically no maintenance. Eventually the cybertruck will take the truck version of best off grid "truck".
Starlink enables remote work in off grid locations where internet isn't available.
He's bringing awareness of corruption.
I'm a fan.
Do you understand that 50 sunny days a year is a death sentence for any solar crap?
Did you ever tried to turn on a Tesla when it spent a week at -20°C? It is completely dead. And with high probability it lost half of capacity forever, if battery survived at all.
Remind me, what is the price for new Tesla "fuel tank"?
Holy shit, you are completely not aware about real world. Teslas are expensive and useless toys, nothing more.
May be only on ships in open sea or somewhere in really distant places like mountains or tundra. In any other case few kilometers of fiber is much cheaper and much more reliable.
Since when does off grid require -20 degree weather? Sounds horrible
How long would it take to charge by solar?
Depends how many panels you have
