All masks, not just cloth masks.
I was, for about 2 weeks a mask wearer in stores and crowded areas because I thought they might work, because well prior to covid I would have to wear one when I took a relative to a cancer treatment center and they mandated it.
All it took was one video of a guy vaping while wearing a mask, showing how they don't work at all, and I was "that guy" not wearing a mask everywhere but work, where I complied because I have a mortgage to pay.
I would try not to wear one. I would get so much shit. Security guard would be yelling at me. I usually would give in to be able to buy groceries but I tried tip at least make them ask me. Later I wouldn't at all and figured they couldn't tackle me or anything. But it was an energy drain. Other days, I didn't have the energy for a fight.
i wore one in the beginning of it because honestly? NOBODY knew wtf was going on with this thing. and studying biology and how viruses/bacteria works and spreads is kind of a foray hobby of mine a bit. so I DID understand the reasoning behind em. so i did wear em.
Another big reason was because all places had mandates by me in Illinois. they would be VERY aggressive about not letting you into shop or get stuff without one. so w/e....i needed to get my shit done.
I also worked in a restaurant through the WHOLE thing. we couldnt let people in the lobby at all so we worked like madmen taking people's orders outside and bringing it out to them and shit. it was hell.
so im not ashamed i wore it in 2020. cause nobody knew wtf was going on tbh. to ME personally though, the "pandemic" phase was over in the fall of 2020 when the virus did the initial surge then things could have been mitigated THEN, if there were competent people running things... but i guess cant have that.
I kind of suspected something when news networks were announcing "new normal" but also saying they didn't know anything about virus. Something didn't add up. Also that absolutely everyone said new normal.
Every scientific study done on prevention of spread of viral respiratory infections using masks (like the cold and flu), prior to Covid, said that masks made no negligible difference. It was literally the "science changed" meme right when Covid hit, and suddenly masks worked. It's because humans give off different sized water droplets, and below a certain size, they aren't pulled to the ground by gravity and can remain in the air for hours, these particles can flow through the spaces of a mask, and just a single droplet is large enough to contain enough virions to cause infection. However, masks do prevent larger droplets from passing through, which is why surgeons wear masks to prevent infection on patients (via spit). However, again, these droplets are so large they're removed from the air via gravity.
The entire scientific community "knew" this prior to Covid. It goes to show how easily doctors, like everyone else, can be brainwashed on medical knowledge. Still, there were a lot of doctors speaking up about this, but they were pretty much all censored. Many spoke up on actual free speech sites and conspiracy theory forums, bringing up these earlier mask studies.
In any case, I hope (and assume) you changed which sites you get your information from, and better learn who you can trust.
