I could see this. Modern military power is essentially backed by silicon. Just as in every previous war, attaching the means of production is a part of the attrition strategy
The US doesnt have a dream of catching up to taiwan in terms of capacity and technology... yes.. a lot of the intellectual property that goes into making those semiconductor machines (that cost 250-500 million a pop) from ASML belongs to europe or america...
but interms of industrial capacity ... america doesnt have a snowglobes chance in hell...
if taiwan goes down.. you wont see a new phone... car... or PC for YEARS.. perhaps maybe even decades..
