If you're looking for some knowledge of the depth of the game being played here, you may be interested in the etymology of the household word "flu" itself.

It comes the study of epidemics in Italy way back in the 1500s. Long story short, they found out that the only thing they could correlate these outbreaks to was solar activity. So the term "flu" comes from the Italian phrase "influenza della stella", or "the influence of the star".

Okay so, entertaining story and maybe there's even something to it, but why would you attach any real importance to it? Well, "They" most certainly do.

I searched on that phrase in two engines and only one single reference is left to it in English. You cannot locate even the small bit I just told you. Bizarrely, that one hit is to a clemaneuverers post on this very forum:
