Math is not a science, it is a language for science. And as in any language you could easily tell any bullshit in it without any connection to reality. Simple as that.

But somehow modern science instead of telling the truth of reality in math language began to excercise building any possible phrases with it. So, we have what we have. Linguists compete in creating different language constructs, perfectly valid from the grammar view, but absolutely senseless. Like "Prudler is fumering shafny blumpees!" - perfectly valid, but completely senseless and describe nothing real.

I remember in math in highschool they had an equation with " i " in it. It was for imaginary number. It confused me alot seems some high math is just used to create a reality that they want it to be.

Complex numbers, consisting from imaginary and real path really are perfectly handy for calculating f.e. AC curcuits and some other things. I think your theacher was not bothered with explaining practical application of that thing, and that's all. It is very simple concept when it comes with example of real word application and represented in cartesian, polar and Euler forms.
