a) elite (from French élite "selection, choice") implies ones free will of choice to either adapt to the perceivable world itself or to the suggested choices by others. Choosing others makes them ones "elite" aka ones selected choice aka the consequence of ones choices.
b) ignoring to represent free will of choice (singular) for suggested choices (plural) tempts one to ignore being different for attaching oneself to likeness under the disguise of sameness...hence you perceiving it as "no different".
