I know the vast majority will reject this, but if you're looking for a clue to correctly understanding of the Bible, in almost every usage Baal is referring to Satan.
And if anyone is going to ask for a link to some Biblical authority saying, "Hey guise, Baal = Satan, m'kay?", I can tell you it does not exist. More work is required and you have to be willing to disagree with all "authorities".
One could utilize an understanding of semantics and linguistics involving ancient languages.
Each consonant with meaning, added to the next, with vowels assumed as differentiation.
Ba was an ideation in Egypt (and Ba-baal-on (babylon)) see BeL and BeLiAL.
AL was an ideation
La was an ideation
El was an ideation
Ba-al Ba-el Bealzebub
Baphomat - Ba-pho (phi) maat
Isis Ra El
Now let's try the word 'Satan'.
This work has already been done and awaits discovery.
Even, or most especially those who 'worship satan' or baal also don't know how to 'spell' and so cast it out as 'magic'.
