""I would like to implement unprecedented countermeasures to [halt] the falling birthrate to allow everyone to participate in child-rearing regardless of age or gender," he said, adding that he would "thoroughly" listen to the voices of parents, young people and childcare service providers."
""We will arrange an environment where foreign talent can participate actively, such as by creating a system for accepting highly-skilled workers," he said."
Good luck with those. Japan is beyond fucked. Esp. the cities, dysfunctional youth and the country is xenophobic as hell.
My take is that Japan as a sovereign nation will not exist in 50 years. Not that I care, I
won't be here either :-)
And they are trying to "turn around" their army too (LOL):
"Kishida said it is a “drastic turnaround” of Japan’s security policy, but still remains within the limitations of its pacifist constitution and international law. “I make it clear that there will not be even a slightest change from Japan’s non-nuclear and self-defense-only principles and our footsteps as a peace-loving country,” Kishida said."
Everything else is distraction around the real issue. Japan has highly skilled worker program since 2012, so Kishida just wants status quo while pretending to do something.
Falling birthrates are a function of the information, we are not at a population ceiling globally, perhaps in some large cities.
Japanese cities are far too large, but the problem does not stop when you leave the city, the information is resulting in a significant reduction in births.
When we study various cultures overtime we can recognize that a reduced birth rate results in a declining population, once below a threshold there is no recovery.
I've wondered if animes like Gakuen Babysitter were state sponsored to try and get the breeders breeding.
In a way they are lucky - they don't have hispanics coming over the border and breeding like flies.

Unless China invades, Japan will still be there, and more functional than the US, which is filling up with sub 90 IQs
Many takers for Japan, not just China. Japan knows this.
Who, then.
Take a map, look at demographics and use your brain. It's obvious.
Then spell it out for everyone.
Everyone always tries the same failed policy. There is only one way to control population growth, control women's rights. https://tee.fm/wp-content/gallery/other-charts/Suffrage.png

It is really sad, I like Japanese people.
Of course they havd right and I fully support them.
And that's why they will go to extinction.
Their choice.
Stop projecting idiocy.
The funny thing is that I'm on your side and agree with your thesis, but you still attack me with idiocy which is opposite of what I support.
Are you really that slow in the brain or just looking to pick a fight?
hrm?
I am not sure I understand.

Yep, solid inputs, I cannot disagree.
