Researchers: While on their journey, near Seydozero lake, they began encountering smoothed-out rectangular granite rocks, reminiscent of pyramids, as well as what looked like remnants of paved roads, followed by a strange path that led underground. The group didn’t manage to get inside, however. According to their testimony, everyone was suddenly struck by an inexplicable feeling of sheer terror - they’d all lost control of their emotions.

Seydozero (Spirit Lake) in Karelia, relatevily popular tourist place, there are a lot of tours from Murmansk to it, fishing, berries, mushrooms, just recreative rest and so on.

Never was there, but have a friends who like to spend vacations in North Karelia. There are really some strange things that looks like remnants of some giant ancient infrastructures.

Lake itself is surrounded by mountains, so have specific climate, different from regular North Karelia climate. Together with local legends, those strange stone things and all that stuff it is very interesting place.

As for illness - local natives use flyagaric mushrooms in shaman rithuals and as a replacement for alcohol drinks, and described "illness" looks more like description of behaviour of one who take too much flyagarics. :)
